Another Amazing Sunday

Yesterday was a wonderful time of worship and teaching for us. Worship was wonderful, and was a refreshment after the funeral on Saturday. We were really blessed! We are still in the "Pierced For Our Transgressions" series ( http://www.gcchurch.org/pages/index.php?pID=37 ) , and this week focused on the Day of Atonement.

The sermon began in Leviticus, and covered the instructions for the priest for the day of atonement. What a stark contrast to today for those who are washed in the blood of Christ!! It was mentioned that the yearly ceremony was a forbearance - we now have complete atonement - it is finished!!! We also walked through the flaws in thinking either that we shouldn't talk about sin, but simply revel in God's love, or that we should constantly be dwelling on our sin and forget God's love. We were encouraged to press in to God when we sin - not to flee. It was a convicting and encouraging message. The veil has been torn - not pushed back to possibly close on us again depending on our performance - we have the Spirit of God living in us!! He can't be any closer than that. What a wonderful reminder. Jesus thank you!!
